Universities

While tracing its roots back to 1632, the University of Amsterdam was formally given the abilty to confer degrees in 1877. It now boasts almost 60 disciplinary fields and more than 22000 students.

TU Delft is the largest and most comprehensive university of engineering sciences in the Netherlands. It was founded in 1842 and has eight faculties collectively offering seventeen BSc and more than twenty MSc programmes, with approximately 13,000 students and 2,100 scientists.

The TU/e was setup in 1956 and encompasses 9 scientific departments offering 10 academic Bachelor programmes, 19 Master programmes and 10 postgraduate design programmes on its compact campus.

The Erasmus University of Rotterdam focuses on 3 areas of expertise, Economics and Management, Medicine and Health, and Law, Culture and Society.

Leiden University was founded in 1575 and has nine faculties and a school of management offering courses in Dutch and many in English.

The University of Maastricht is the youngest university in holland and has more than 11000 students and 3000 staff. Well known for its international orientation and its problem based learning education system.

The Radboud University Nijmegen has 8 faculties and enrols over 16000 students in approximately 90 study programs.

Tilburg University specialises in human and social sciences and is located in the southern part of the Netherlands.

The University of Twente is an entrepreneurial research university. It was founded in 1961 and offers education and research in areas ranging from public policy studies and applied physics to biomedical technology. The UT is the Netherlands' only campus university.

The VU was established in 1880 and has 12 faculties with teaching facilities for more than 16000 students.

Wageningen University was founded in 1918. It specialises in plant, animal, environmental, agrotechnological, food and social sciences.
